Tennis
The Varsity Girls tennis
team went 13-1 this season, beating a top competitor in Seton Catholic. The girls earned many accolades as well. They competed against Division 1 schools in the Paseo Tournament early in the season and earned 1st as a team. Deondra Bacchus won the gold singles bracket and Quinne Talbot won the silver singles bracket. The team also earned title of Section Champions by beating every other team in Section 1.  This makes them back-to-back Section Champs. The team ended the season ranked 3rd in Division 2 and hosted the first two rounds of the state tournament. The first round, they beat Coconino swiftly. In the quarterfinals, the girls fell to Nogales 1-5 after a long battle.  The girls tennis team has not advanced to the quarterfinals of team state in many years. In individual state, Deondra Bacchus was seeded #6 and battled her way into the quarterfinals, but lost after a 3-hour match with rival Seton Catholic. Also, Coach Price earned Section Coach of the year for the second year in a row.
